Idito the Chicken and Moonpie Nobot

You read that right. Idito the Chicken and Moonpie Nobot. That’s the name of the new music project/band Mrs. Muffin and I are working on. It’s been a somewhat nebulous process until recently. Mostly it was her music with me helping out from time to time. Recently things seemed to have coalesced as we happened into doing one original Christmas song a day until Christmas. I am really excited about this. Some of the rest of the material is acoustic nerd rock in approach. Here’s an excellent example of Idito’s brilliant song writing: Sundappled Robots I heart her so!!!

Zombies Love Gizzards

Hello all. My band, Zombies Love Gizzards, has recently finished recording an album. We are super proud of it. It was an amazing experience. A very good friend, Circus Bear, helped us immensely and produced and engineered it. We recorded the music live and then went back and did vocals and added some bells and whistles. It’s 13 songs for $7. I feel very privileged to play with the two guys I do. So, here’s the link, please give it a listen.

Bass Repair

So I was changing the strings on my bass the other day and then BAM! the tuning peg broke. Not cool. Especially since I was looking forward to playing. But these things happen. I was able to track down the tuning machine I needed at Twelfth Fret, a local repair shop. Piers Munro was super helpful. He found a machine that would fit the bass, but wouldn’t be right for the side I needed. He noticed that the machines already on there were able to be adjusted so they could fit on either side. I also needed a new E string. I got the tuning machine and the string for a grand total of $20. Perfect. He showed me what I need to do to switch the one tuning machine so it could fit on the other side and told me to come back if it didn’t work. Well, it worked beautifully. Been awhile since I blogged. Been a bit busy. New job, new band, and doing music projects with Mrs. Muffin.

Got a little trashed the other night and found myself being accused of being a hipster by Mrs. Muffin and a good friend. After watching this I can definitively say I am not an East London hipster thanks to The Grand Spectacular.
